Drew’s Clues is a trivia and entertainment company based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We host five weekly team trivia nights at bars and breweries around the city.
We’re also available to hire for your next event! Whether you want to host an in-person or virtual trivia night, need a DJ for a wedding, or want to throw a karaoke party, we can help.
How We Started
Though I hosted a weekly trivia night for more than five years, Drew’s Clues wasn’t officially born until March of 2020. Bar trivia was one of the many casualties of the COVID-19 pandemic, and we had to suspend in-person trivia nights indefinitely. But the prospect of a week without trivia was too upsetting to imagine, so my partner Hanna and I quickly pivoted to a virtual format.
Over the following months, we tinkered and tweaked. After plenty of tech issues, a few tears, and lots of help from great friends, we had a night we could be proud of, something that came close to the experience of a real live pub quiz.
Before long, we had a logo, a theme song, and even a feature on the Today Show! Drew’s Clues was here to stay.
More recently, Drew has added DJ and karaoke services to his repertoire, and has had the privilege of bringing music and fun to all sorts of weddings and special events.
Why Drew’s Clues?
In the Information Age, trivia is not hard to find. Scores of quizzes and question archives are always just a click away.
But good trivia? That’s a horse of a different color.
We’ve all been to trivia nights that…suck. The questions might be dead simple, painfully obscure, or confusingly worded. And even when the questions are good, poor pacing or boring hosts can really tank the whole night.
At Drew’s Clues, we pride ourselves on putting together well-balanced nights full of thoroughly researched, carefully crafted questions. We aim to challenge but not frustrate, inform but not condescend, and—above all—provide a few fun hours with friends in an ever stressful world.

Drew
Drew
Drew does most of the writing, hosting, and complaining.
Drew’s love of trivia runs deep, from religiously watching Jeopardy as a kid to a more recent and totally mediocre LearnedLeague career. When he’s not writing trivia, you’ll probably find Drew bartending, record shopping, or working on a cat-themed jigsaw puzzle.
Hanna
Hanna does most of the scorekeeping, question testing, and morale boosting.
Hanna loves the community that Drew’s Clues has created, especially the group that came together week after week to play trivia throughout the pandemic. Hanna manages several urban farms and greenhouses for Grow Pittsburgh, and spends most of her free time tending to the backyard garden and cooking & preserving the bounty it brings.
Mercury
Mercury—our 19-year-old tuxedo cat—became Drew’s Clues’ unofficial mascot, often popping up when we were hosting trivia nights on Zoom. Though she passed away in April of 2021, her warm, snuggly spirit is always with us.
